Stonebridge is not a payroll company and as such by contracting with Stonebridge you are entering into a commercial subcontracting solution. As Stonebridge sits directly in the contractual chain all CIS liabilities, PAYE liabilities and potential risks in respect of the engagement of subcontractors, rest entirely with Stonebridge. Any potential tax liability as a result of an HMRC status enquiry is fully covered by our £2m NIC losses insurance underwritten by Markel International


The margin is very much dependant on the size of the project and the type of products and services provided to our clients. We offer a vast array of products and services ranging from Project management, installation of biometric timesheet systems, back offices and specialist sub-contracting services.   • Rebate £2.50-£7.50 per contractor per week depending on number of contractors

  • Credit We are happy to provide one weeks credit as standard (provided credit insurers approval). More credit can be provided but additional credit may be subject to a reduction of the administration fee in line with the cost of the additional credit offered.

  • Member Rewards We have recently agreed a deal with American Express that enables our clients to pay Stonebridge weekly Invoices with a corporate AMEX card, to earn reward points and get additional credit of 30 days on the spend (1-1.5% fee applies).   • Client Portal As soon as you agree to engage with Stonebridge, we will give you access to your own bespoke client portal. This will give you access to all the information you need, such as the subcontractor’s registration status and documents, each subcontractor’s payment advice slips, all your invoices, etc.


  • FREE Self-assessments We understand that it is more difficult than ever for our clients to retain good contractors even when paying exceptionally good rates. To assist our clients in increasing retention of contractors, we have included FREE self-assessment (Standard fee £250 plus VAT) as part of our service for contractors engaged via Stonebridge for more than 9 months (39 weeks) of the year and half price (£125 plus VAT) for any contractor engaged less than 9 months.

  • Personal Accident Insurance We provide all our contractors with personal accident cover as part of the standard weekly margin. We have one of the best, if not the best personal accident insurance benefits available for all our contractors (See PA Insurance policy benefits attached)

  • Employers and Public Liability Insurance We provide all our contractors with £10m Employers Liability and £5m Public and Products Liability Insurance as standard.


For any new client with 20 plus subcontractors we offer a bulk registration solution. Our bulk registration process takes a maximum of two weeks to complete, but can be done in one, and we usually look to start the process on a Monday and have all subcontractors fully registered and ready for payment the following Friday. We will look after every step of the process from start to finish.

Our service won’t stop once we have onboarded the subcontractors. Our customer service team will be on hand 5 days a week from 8:30am - 5:30pm to deal with any questions they might have and our Self-Assessment department will be in contact with the subcontractors at the end of the tax year, to assist with their tax returns.
